I stayed here for three nights on a family vacation, and we couldn’t have picked a better spot! The location is fantastic, right in the heart of a bustling shopping area, and just a short walk from great dining options. Our room was small but efficient and impeccably clean, with a comfortable bed. The Japanese-style breakfast buffet was a good surprise, offering a variety of options. The staff was friendly and helpful, even with language barriers. the hotel seems relatively new, and we had a peaceful experience thanks to our high-floor room far from street noise.
I can recommend this hotel.

During my short stay at the hotel, I was pleasantly surprised by its clean and cozy atmosphere. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of a bustling shopping area with ample dining options nearby. The front desk staff were helpful, offering us hot drinks and guiding us to local attractions. Our room, while small, was efficiently designed, and we appreciated the quietness on higher floors. The Japanese-style breakfast offered a good mix of options, and the bed provided a comfortable night's sleep.
I recommend this hotel.

We enjoyed our stay at Quintessahotel Kagoshimatenmonkan Relax&Sleep, especially the clean and basic room. The location was perfect for sightseeing, and we appreciated being able to relax in the lobby with hot drinks before check-in. One downside was the single elevator, which made waits longer at times.

Clean, great location, nice facilities, good value for money
Staff were okay but not up to Japanese standards we experienced else in Japan. The lobby is on the 2nd Floor and as a result you can by-pass lobby except for check-in and check-out. Therefore, not much contact with staff. When we did ask staff for assistance, they were friendly but not like other locations. Breakfast was available but cost 800 yen....so passed on this. Unfortunately , coffee was not available in morning.....since it was part of 800 yen brkfst. Would like free coffee as in other accommadation. Small things make a big difference in competitive market.

I had a great weekend stay! The hotel is right in the heart of a bustling shopping area, which made it super easy to find plenty of food options nearby. The room was clean and cozy, and I loved the Japanese-style breakfast bar—so many tasty choices! Plus, the staff was friendly, even if their English was a bit limited.
On the downside, my room was pretty small, and there’s only one elevator, which was a bit annoying during peak times. The street noise could also get loud, especially during the day, so you might want to request a room on a higher floor for a quieter experience.

The room size was perfect for a romantic escape. the bed was comfortable and the view from the window was fantastic. It was also great how we could walk to the local restaurants on the same street and enjoy the local cuisine.
The noise level was unbearable, especially during the night. We couldn't sleep well due to the constant sound of trams outside.

The location was perfect, right in the middle of the downtown area where the shopping arcade is. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, giving great advice on where to eat and what to see. The rooms on the top floor had a breathtaking view of the volcano belching out its fumes. And the breakfast offered was delicious and satisfying.
All was great, no improvement needed.
